Thank you so much for your interest in our programme and we are excited to read your application.
Please fill in the form below to the best of your ability and if you have any access requirements do not hesitate to contact us for support.
Our application criteria is simple - if you are between the age of 16-24 and you reside in the UK and have an interest in music production we want to hear from you! There is no requirement to have any knowledge of production software, we welcome beginners too. We also welcome applications in all formats so if you would prefer to apply via a video, voice recording or other format, just let us know.
We are actively seeking to balance the music industry in terms of underrepresented groups and our approach to recruitment is outlined in our recruitment statement.
As outlined above it would be a great help to us to be able to gather as much information about our applicants for the purpose of fundraising so in this section you will find questions on protected characteristics. You will see these questions are set to required but if you would prefer not to answer any of them there is an option of prefer not to say.
Please use this section to provide the two pieces of supporting materials for your application
Please write, share a voice recording / video, or upload a statement outlining your experience and interest in music production, including either an example of your work or an exploration of a musical project/album/producer or artist that you admire and why.
Please write, share a voice recording/video or upload a supporting statement outlining why you think you should be offered a place on the Future Producer Academy, referring to our FPA recruitment statement (outlined at the start of this form).
We are going to review all applications with great care and will get back to everybody by 2 June 2025.
The Future Producer Academy is a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to advancing equality in the music industry, with a focus on music production. Founded by Grammy Award-winning producer Fraser T Smith, who has collaborated with global superstars including Adele, Stormzy, Dave, Snow Patrol and Kae Tempest, the academy offers a unique and unparalleled opportunity for the next generation. Each year, 16 aspiring music producers from across the UK will be selected to participate in this transformative programme.
Future Producer Academy’s mission is to provide opportunities for aspiring young music producers to succeed in their desired field by being given access to unparalleled music production tuition. We have partnered with leading figures in the UK music industry and will provide mentorship from some of the most esteemed professionals from across the sector as well as securing a paid work placement upon completion. The Future Producer Academy welcomes applications from anyone aged between 16 and 24 who resides in the UK with an interest in developing their knowledge of music production. There is no expectation to have any experience in production software or have produced any music.
Future Producer Academy is actively working to balance the music industry in terms of diversity, inclusion and representation and so whilst the application process is open to everyone who meets the required criteria, we will be actively seeking to recruit from underrepresented groups, particularly those who are specifically not represented in music production.
The academy is currently non-funded and as we continue to actively seek the funding which will enable us to offer more opportunities to more young people, we need to collect certain pieces of data regarding your protected characteristics. It would help us enormously if you would provide us with this information; however if you are not comfortable doing so, you will see an option on the application form that allows you to opt out of providing certain personal information.
Thank you for your interest in Future Producer Academy.
