The Future Producer Academy is a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to advancing equality in the music industry, with a focus on music production. Founded by Grammy Award-winning producer Fraser T Smith, who has collaborated with global superstars like Adele, Drake, Kano, Stormzy, Dave, Snow Patrol and Sam Smith, the academy offers a unique and unparalleled opportunity for the next generation. Each year, 16 aspiring music producers from across the UK will be selected to participate in this transformative programme.
Future Producer Academy’s mission is to provide opportunities for aspiring young music producers to succeed in their desired field by being given access to unparalleled music production tuition. The course partners with leading figures in the UK music industry and provides mentorship from some of the most esteemed professionals from across the sector as well as aiming to secure a paid work placement upon completion. The Future Producer Academy welcomes applications from anyone aged between 16 and 24 who resides in the UK with an interest in developing their knowledge of music production. There is no expectation to have any experience in production software or have produced any music.
Future Producer Academy is actively working to balance the music industry in terms of diversity, inclusion and representation and so whilst the application process is open to everyone who meets the required criteria, we will be actively seeking to recruit from underrepresented groups, particularly those who are specifically not represented in music production.
The academy is currently non-funded and as we continue to actively seek the funding which will enable us to offer more opportunities to more young people, we need to collect certain pieces of data regarding your protected characteristics. It would help us enormously if you would provide us with this information.
